Fitness Classes

The Office of Student Life provides weekly fitness classes that are free to all RFUMS students. Classes are on a first come first serve basis and may have limited numbers available for each session.

TRX

Suspension training that uses your bodyweight to develop strength, endurance, mobility, durability, balance, flexibility and core stability. This class is 30minutes long and fast pace for a full body workout. Must register, only 8 spots available. Sign-up available the Monday before class.

Circuit

This class will target all muscle groups with interval training. Class will be different each week, but will always include cardio and resistance/weight training using different types of equipment. All levels welcomed. Express Circuit is only 30min.

Power Yoga

A hybrid style of yoga combined with different Pilate poses. This class takes yoga to a higher level by holding poses and adding reps. You will go through a more vigorous flow of yoga that will challenge your balance, strength and stamina with dynamic movements. All levels welcome; limited mats are provided.

Vinyasa

This style of yoga will synchronize your breath to movement to flow through different postures. This class will help to improve balance, flexibility and strength along with working up a sweat to push out toxins in the body. Vinyasa will re - energize your body and your mind as you find the power of inhaling and exhaling.

Yoga

A conditioning class for your mind, body and soul, along with promoting an overall sense of well - being. This class will improve your strength, flexibility and breathing. All levels welcome; limited mats are provided.

Kickboxing

This high energy class takes boxing moves that torches fat, sculpt muscles and features a core - centric interval workout. This class is guaranteed to whip you into shape, using a class format that's both fun and challenging. Get ready to use the power, speed and agility of boxing to sculpt and tone muscles for a full body workout. All levels welcome.

Cardio Step

A quick 40 - minute session combining cardio and resistance training. This workout will include step aerobics with some lunges, squats, push - ups and core for a full body workout. All levels welcomed.

Zumba/Zumba Step

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? Forget the workout, just lose yourself in the music and find yourself in shape at the original dance - fitness party. Zumba feature exotic rhythms set to high - energy Latin and international beats. Before you know it, you'll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It's easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating. Zumba Step uses step aerobics to incorporate different dance moves using a step to. Only 15 step available for class.

R.I.P.P.E.D.

Experience this totally body “plateau proof fitness formula” workout, utilizing resistance and cardio training, which masterfully combines Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, and Endurance to help you attain and maintain your physique in ways that are fun, safe, doable and extremely effective.

Dance Fitness

This is a fun cardio class designed to burn calories and torch fat, while dancing to hip hop, pop, and rock music. The choreography is simple and easy to follow and will also include fitness and aerobic moves to keep your heart rate in the calorie burning zone. Students
of all fitness levels are welcome!

Outdoor Boot camp

Join us outside next to the pavilion for a bodyweight based workout featuring lots of pull ups, push ups, squats and lunges as well as power movements and tire flipping.  All levels are welcome. If it is raining or conditions are very wet the class will be cancelled.

SAQ

Train like an athlete in this class that focuses on Speed, Agility, and Quickness. Utilize sprint drills, cones, ladders, and plyometrics in this higher intensity class. All fitness levels welcome.

Triple Threat

Enjoy multiple formats in one class, utilize a combination of step, TRX, bootcamp, cycle, pumping iron and so much more. Open to all fitness levels

Pilates

This class uses a series of movements that will stabilize and strengthen your core. Be ready for a full body workout that will test your balance, core strength and stability. All levels welcome and mats will be provided.

Back 2 Basics

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to improve muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, rubber bands and medicine balls are offered for resistance. Great for older adults and those that are new to exercise.

PIYO

Join Natoia for a hybrid, athletic workout, which combines the mind/body practices of yoga and Pilates, as well as the principles of stretch, strength training, conditioning and dynamic movement.
