Postdoctoral Extramural Grant Incentive Program

Connect with SGPS

Postdoctoral fellowships are available through a variety of public and private funding agencies. As an integral component in postdoctoral training education and training, it is anticipated that postdocs and their mentors will seek extramural postdoctoral fellowships to support their training whenever possible. Please review the information and consult InSite for more details and program-specific forms.

Purpose

The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) encourages postdoctoral fellows and their mentors to seek and obtain extramural funding resources to support postdoctoral research and scholarly activities. Development of research grant proposals for postdoctoral support is an excellent mechanism for career training. Additionally, research productivity is enhanced if such applications are successful in securing extramural support. To address these goals, the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies has established and implemented an incentive program to enhance postdoctoral training and increase research productivity supported by extramural resources.

Program Description

The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies will provide financial support to mentors of postdoctoral fellows who successfully obtain an externally funded fellowship. It is the intent of the Postdoctoral Extramural Grant Incentive Program to sustain the mentor incentive amount per year for the duration of the externally funded postdoctoral award. Mentor incentive funds are also subject to availability of funds in any year and are not necessarily guaranteed from year to year. The program is funded by general operating funds of Rosalind Franklin University and is not funded through federal research funds.
