Victoria Pepitone Fils, EdD, MPH, RHIA
Dr. Fils is an Assistant Professor of Nurse Anesthesia and the Coordinator of Online Learning at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. With over 20 years of health information management and revenue cycle management in health care organizations, and as the past Professor and Chair of the Health Information Technology program at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Illinois, Dr. Fils brings to education more than 30 years of professional experience in acute care health information, regulation and policy, reimbursement management, clinical performance measure development, and public health education. A former Senior Policy Advisor for the American Medical Association during the Affordable Care Act implementation, she developed algorithm logic for the electronic specifications of national clinical performance measure standards, while promoting the ACA among the nation's major health care agencies and legislators. In that capacity, she has supported health care access for under-served populations, as well as the development of preventive and maintenance health care services to meet the needs of low-income and at-risk populations. She continues to advocate for these groups to this day.
