Sara Koveleski Kraut, PT, DPT, NCS

Dr. Koveleski Kraut received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from The University of Iowa, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School, where upon graduation received the award for excellence in clinical education. She founded and owns a PT private practice, Advanced Physical Therapy & Health Services in Park Ridge, Illinois, having served her community for over 16 years. In her clinical practice, she specializes in the evaluation and treatment of people with neurologic, orthopedic, and vestibular conditions, and has attended multiple continuing education courses in these areas. She joined the RFUMS faculty in 2015 with an emphasis on clinical neurology.

Dr. Koveleski Kraut is a Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She was also awarded a certificate of competency in the APTA Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency-Based Course chaired by Susan Herdman.

Dr. Koveleski Kraut travels nationally for North American Seminars providing continuing education courses having educated thousands of physical therapists and occupational therapists over the past decade, specifically for the Evaluation and Treatment of Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Peripheral Neuropathy and also for Utilizing Pilates in Rehabilitation. She also recently presented at a national PT conference on a current study being conducted at the RFUMS CLEAR Lab involving active virtual reality training and cognitive behavioral therapy in trans-tibial prosthesis users.

Dr. Koveleski Kraut is a certified Pilates Instructor, AFAA-certified Group Exercise Instructor, and an ACE-certified Personal Trainer. She continues to teach community-based fitness classes. She is a credentialed clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). She is an active member of the APTA (Private Practice Section) and Illinois Physical Therapy Association (IPTA), as well as currently serves on the board as Secretary of the IPTA’s Illinois Network of Independent Physical Therapists. She also served on the ACAPT Student National Honor Society Task Force, helping develop the first national honor society for PT students.
