Michael Zdon, MD, FACS
Dr. Michael Zdon, a full time faculty member at Chicago Medical School since October of 1988, currently serves as Professor, Discipline Chair, and Education Director for Surgery and Professor of Critical Care Medicine. He received his MD from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed his training in General Surgery at The University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City. He is Board Certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
During his time at CMS his responsibilities have included Chief of General Surgery, Program Director of the CMS Surgery Residency Program, site coordinator for the Surgery Clerkship, Vice Chair and Chair of Surgery. Dr. Zdon is a member of many local, regional, and national professional societies including the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the Society of University Surgeons, and the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. He is a past President of the Chicago Surgical Society and is currently a Governor of the American College of Surgeons and the President of the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. His clinical interests are focused on Endocrine Surgery and he is currently active on the medical staffs of Advocate Condell and Lutheran General Hospitals.
Dr. Zdon also currently serves as the Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education and Graduate Medical Education, and is the Designated Institutional Official for Chicago Medical School. He is also Vice Chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences.
