Mary Rahlin, PT, DHS, PCS

Dr. Rahlin received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and a Physical Therapist (“Therapeutic Gymnastics Instructor”) Certificate from the State Central Institute of Physical Culture in Moscow, Russia. After her immigration to the United States, she received her Bachelor of Science and advanced Master of Science degrees in physical therapy from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. Her Doctor of Health Science degree in physical therapy is from the University of Indianapolis. Dr. Rahlin joined the RFUMS faculty in 2005. She is a Board-Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and its Illinois Chapter (IPTA), the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Dr. Rahlin maintains a small private, home-based pediatric physical therapy practice. Her research emphasis is on assessment and management of therapy-related behavior, outcome measures for infants with congenital muscular torticollis, and efficacy of Perception-Action Approach intervention for infants and children with movement disorders. Dr. Rahlin has published in Physical Therapy, Pediatric Physical Therapy, Physiotherapy Theory and Practice, and Infant Behavior and Development, and is the author of a textbook titled Physical Therapy for Children with Cerebral Palsy: An Evidence-Based Approach. She has presented at IPTA REVITALIZE conferences, APTA national conferences, and AACPDM annual meetings, and conducted continuing education courses for practicing clinicians.
