Lisa Kasalajtis, MD '00
Dr. Lisa Kasalajtis is a learning community mentor for the CMS Class of 2025. She is a lecturer of medicine for the Clinical Science Department and has been on faculty at Rosalind Franklin University since 2012. Dr. Kasalajtis also works as the medical director practicing Aesthetic Medicine at Labotox Med Spa in Gurnee and the Aesthetic Factory in Chicago.
She grew up in Orlando, Florida, then moved to the Midwest in order to attend college at Northwestern University in Evanston. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Anthropology and has international research experience in Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue, and Hepatitis E from Bangkok, Thailand. She earned her Master of Science degree in Applied Physiology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Sciences.
Dr. Kasalajtis graduated from Chicago Medical School near the top of her class in 2000. She went on to San Francisco for her internship and residency training at California Pacific Medical Center. She was board certified in Internal Medicine and continued to advance her practice by becoming licensed in Acupuncture and specializing in HIV medicine. She worked as a hospitalist and weight management physician for many years before joining San Francisco Internists medical group in private practice. During her time in private practice, she was recognized by the People’s Choice Award in Medicine.
Dr. Kasalajtis has a long history being an involved alumna of the Chicago Medical School. She has been a preceptor for Essentials of Clinical Reasoning 1 and 2 for many years. She served as the course director for Clinical Skills for two years, in addition to serving on the first- and second-year committees.
Lastly, Dr. Kasalajtis developed a graduate training track called the Physician Reintegration Program for medical licensing of physicians who had taken time off of clinical practice. During that time, she practiced at the University Clinics and the North Chicago VA.
