Kenneth H Kessler, PhD
Dr. Kenneth H. Kessler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology in the College of Health Professions and in the Department of Clinical Sciences in the Chicago Medical School. He is the Director of the Department’s Clinical Counselor training program. Dr. Kessler earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 1995 after completion of an internship at North Chicago VA Medical Center. He has also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology at Fairleigh Dickenson University in 2019. He joined the RFUMS faculty in 2007.
Dr. Kessler teaches courses in Research Methods and Statistics, Professional Ethics, Professional Practice and Risk Management, Forensic Psychology, Psychopharmacology and Motivational Interviewing. He is the Director of Global Health for the College of Health Professions and is the site leader for the Uganda Africa Interprofessional Global Health experience. Dr. Kessler is involved in a number of professional activities including serving as Chairman of the Illinois’ Clinical Professional Counselor Licensing and Disciplinary Board and is an attending psychologist at the RFUMS Interprofessional Community Clinic. As someone who has always been active in the local community, Dr. Kessler is the vice-chair of the Lake County Sheriff’s Merit Commission. He is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Counselor in Illinois.
Dr. Kessler will not be accepting a student for the 2022/2023 academic year.
