Dr. Ian Jasenof has accepted the role of Chief Medical Officer for the Mile Square Center, which is under the direction of the University of Illinois Health Center. Dr. Jasenof has had a long multifaceted professional career in various leadership roles with a large vertically integrated health system.

His medical training started with the completion of his medical degree at the Rush Medical College and he completed his residency in obstetrics & gynecology at the University of Illinois Health Center. He recently completed his Masters in Health Services Administration at National Louis University.

His most recent leadership roles included Director of Undergraduate Education at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital where he directed both the third and fourth year medical students in their development in health care. As the M3 director, he was responsible for both the didactic and clinical education for the department of obstetrics and gynecology for two of Chicago’s major medical schools, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and the University Illinois Medical School.

In addition, prior to accepting his leadership role with Mile Square, he served as an ex-officio Board of Director member for Advocate Physician Partners (APP). APP is one of the nation’s leading care management entities and is associated with Advocate Health Care. APP is a leader in clinical integration, population health and value-based-healthcare. APP has an associated accountable care organization of 1 million patients.

Dr. Jasenof’s role included membership in the Peer Review & Credentialing Committee as a founding member. He was then promoted to a member of the Quality Improvement Committee whose directive is to provide foundational policy initiatives on population health guidelines for physician membership in APP. This experience brings a deep understanding of HEDIS metrics, which provides guidelines on patient management and outcomes.

Prior to his various leadership roles at Advocate Health Care, he served as Medical Director for the Access Genesis Center for Health and Empowerment. This office served over 30,000 patient encounters per year and is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). It has been Dr. Jasenof’s passion to serve the underserved population in order to provide best health outcomes.
