Francis Lawrence Hughes, PharmD
Frank Hughes, PharmD, Vice-Chair of Pharmacy Practice, Director of Pharmacy Skills Education, and Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, earned his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at the University of Rhode Island in May 1999. He completed a one-year pharmacy practice residency at Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis and a one-year emergency medicine residency at Rutgers University in New Jersey. After his residencies, Dr. Hughes joined the faculty at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University and practiced in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University in New Brunswick for 11 years. In 2002, Dr. Hughes became a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. He has extensive experience teaching pharmacotherapeutics and pharmacokinetics to pharmacy students, and pharmacology to physician assistant students. Dr. Hughes is a member of the American Associations of Colleges or Pharmacy, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and many state organizations.
