Bala Sarma, MD

Associate Professor

Dr. Sarma has directed child psychiatry at Rosalind Franklin University since 1972, and coordinates all our academic activities in child psychiatry. An expert clinician who is board certified in adult and child psychiatry, he practices at the Behavioral Health Center of RFUMS Health System. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has been a regular examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His research interests are in child development, hyperactivity in children, and neurologic soft signs associated with childhood learning problems. In 1991 and 2005, the residents chose him as their teacher of the year.
