Message from the Program Director

Thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Chicago Medical School/Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (CMS/RFUMS).

We believe that there is no substitute for the comprehensive training you will receive in our program. We are confident that the variety of training experiences here will optimally meet the needs of residents interested in primary care, hospital medicine, or sub-specialization. Our program offers a state of the art training facility, supportive faculty, and a commitment to high quality, evidence based patient care.

We are very enthusiastic about recent changes to our program and the opportunities that this presents for our residents. All residents in the CMS/FHCC Internal Medicine residency program will receive their training mainly at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) in North Chicago, the nation’s first federal health care center. Located next to the Rosalind Franklin University campus in North Chicago, Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center is a unique, first-of-its-kind partnership between the US Department of Veterans Affairs and the  Department of Defense provides an outstanding educational environment for our residents. The FHCC provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care to a diverse population of veterans, naval recruits, active duty and retired military personnel, and dependents of all ages and both sexes. Residents will also train at AMITA Health Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center and Mount Sinai Hospital in downtown Chicago which will offer diverse medical care and exposure to both general medicine, telemetry, and acute neurological patients.

We hope you will take the opportunity to visit Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and see our program in action. We invite you to submit an application through the National Resident Matching Program, ERAS.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Our Residency Coordinator, Lolita Edwards, can be reached via email at imresidency@rosalindfranklin.edu.

We look forward to meeting and talking to you about our program and about your career goals.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Daniels, MD
