NAAC 870 Clinical Residency I (2QH)
Students will complete clinical residency rotations based on a gap analysis of their prior direct patient care hours spent in an acute care clinical setting, as part of completing an accredited advanced practice registered nurse educational program (if any). All students must complete a total minimum of 500 hours of direct patient care hours in a variety of acute care clinical practice settings. The first residency rotation may occur in an acute care hospital or specialty practice outpatient setting.
NAAC 871 Clinical Residency II (2QH)
Students will complete clinical residency rotations based on a gap analysis of their prior direct patient care hours spent in an acute care clinical setting, as part of completing an accredited advanced practice registered nurse educational program (if any). All students must complete a total minimum of 500 hours of direct patient care hours in a variety of acute care clinical practice settings. Students in this course will continue to build their clinical skills in an acute care setting.
NAAC 872 Clinical Residency III and Role Preparation (3QH)
Students will complete clinical residency rotations based on a gap analysis of their prior direct patient care hours spent in an acute care clinical setting, as part of completing an accredited advanced practice registered nurse educational program (if any). All students must complete a total minimum of 500 hours of direct patient care hours in a variety of acute care clinical practice settings. Students will complete all required direct patient care hours during this residency rotation and will also complete required board preparation activities, including an assessment of their readiness to sit for the Adult- Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification examination.
