NAAC 711 Clinical Correlations (2QH)
The content of this course is integrated with the topics being presented in the concurrent NANP 758 Applied Decision-making and Pharmacologic Treatment in Acute & Critical Illness (4QH). This course provides initial clinical correlation with didactic content, along with an introduction to clinical scenarios. Students will be expected to incorporate a comprehensive, holistic approach, with culture and gender specific considerations. Students will demonstrate comprehensive history and physical assessment, differential diagnosis, plan of care, and implementation and evaluation of the plan. Monthly simulation lab experiences will include the performance of common clinical procedures and skills.
NAAC 714 Clinical Seminar & Leadership/Professional Role I (4QH)
During clinical residency, students come together virtually with faculty one day per month for case discussions, professional presentations (provided by students and content experts), and board review activities. Presentation topics and learning activities will include content directly related to the achievement of graduate standards for leadership and professional role. Students will participate in assessing and improving the effectiveness of their clinical practice, leadership style, and emotional intelligence.
NAAC 715 Clinical Seminar & Leadership/Professional Role II (4QH)
During clinical residency, students come together virtually with faculty one day per month for case discussions, professional presentations (provided by students and content experts), and board review activities. Presentation topics and learning activities will include content directly related to the achievement of graduate standards for leadership and professional role. Students will participate in assessing and improving the effectiveness of their clinical practice, leadership style, and emotional intelligence.
NAAC 716 Clinical Seminar & Leadership/Professional Role III (4QH)
During clinical residency, students come together virtually with faculty one day per month for case discussions, professional presentations (provided by students and content experts), and board review activities. Presentation topics and learning activities will include content directly related to the achievement of graduate standards for leadership and professional role. Students will participate in assessing and improving the effectiveness of their clinical practice, leadership style, and emotional intelligence. During this final seminar course, students will complete required activities to prepare for their national certification examination, including an assessment of their readiness to sit for the exam.
NAAC 758 Applied Decision-making and Pharmacologic Treatment in Acute and Critical Illness (4QH)
This course aims to focus on management of high-acuity disease states using clinical practice guidelines with a key focus on the complex pharmacologic management decisions involved. This is accomplished using a comprehensive body-system approach for patient management during acute and critical illness using evidence-based practice and the patient response through case study and simulation. This course introduces the full ANCC and AACN blueprint of the acute care board examination with content focusing on the core of the exam domains which will be built on throughout the remainder of the program and clinical internship.
NAAC 759 Health Promotion for Advanced Practice (2QH)
Students will examine the concepts of health promotion and disease prevention across the lifespan and for vulnerable populations, including the determinants of health behavior. An emphasis is placed on the role of the advanced practice nurse in the promotion of health.
NAAC 810 Clinical Residency I (8QH)
Students complete clinical residency rotations contingent on documented satisfactory progress on regular formative clinical evaluations, and quarterly summative clinical evaluations. Students are supervised by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and/or physicians at a variety of clinical sites and have opportunities to synthesize and apply previous learning. Students must maintain professionalism and be open to various teaching styles and learning experiences.
NAAC 820 Clinical Residency II (8QH)
Students complete clinical residency rotations contingent on documented satisfactory progress on regular formative clinical evaluations, and quarterly summative clinical evaluations. Students are supervised by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and/or physicians at a variety of clinical sites and have opportunities to synthesize and apply previous learning. Students must maintain professionalism and be open to various teaching styles and learning experiences.
NAAC 830 Clinical Residency III (8QH)
Students complete clinical residency rotations contingent on documented satisfactory progress on regular formative clinical evaluations, and quarterly summative clinical evaluations. Students are supervised by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and/or physicians at a variety of clinical sites and have opportunities to synthesize and apply previous learning. Students must maintain professionalism and be open to various teaching styles and learning experiences.
NAAC 840 Specialty Clinical Residency IV (4QH)
Students complete clinical residency rotations contingent on documented satisfactory progress on regular formative clinical evaluations, and quarterly summative clinical evaluations. Students are supervised by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and/or physicians at a variety of clinical sites and have opportunities to synthesize and apply previous learning. During this final residency, students will have the opportunity to complete a rotation in a specialty area of their choosing (from among available approved clinical sites).
