Application Requirements
In addition to the University’s minimum requirements, applicants must meet the following admissions requirements:
Education
- A baccalaureate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher education completed prior to application.
- There are no required prerequisite courses but completion of a biostatistics course within the past two years is recommended.
Transcripts
- Final, official transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended, even if a degree was not awarded or expected.
Academics
- Minimum overall, science, and nursing GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is preferred.
Experience
- At least one year of full-time experience, preferably two, as an RN in a critical care setting at the time of matriculation.
Certification and Licensure
- Current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the United States, its territories or protectorates.
- CCRN Certification is highly recommended for a competitive application.
Resume or Curriculum Vitae
- A curriculum vitae (CV) is required as part of the NursingCAS application.
Recommendations
- Provide contact information for three professional references as part of a Curriculum Vitae; submissions of formal letters of recommendation are not required.
