32nd Annual Dance for Diabetes
In this section
The 32nd Annual Dance for Diabetes (D4D), held Jan. 12 at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago, raised more than $32,000 to support patient care at the university’s Interprofessional Community Clinic (ICC) for the uninsured.
Dance for Diabetes is the major annual fundraising event benefiting the ICC, where more than half of the patients who visit have been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetic symptoms. D4D attendees bid on silent auction items, purchased raffle tickets for the 50/50 drawing, and made direct donations for the purchase of medical supplies. Many RFU students used the digital fundraising platform MobileCause that allowed supporters to make donations in the days leading up to D4D.
This year’s Dance for Diabetes was a collaborative effort between the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine Class of 2021 and the university’s Interprofessional Clinic Initiative (ICI), which facilitates the ICC. The proceeds raised will fund patient care at the ICC, including diagnostic testing, ongoing treatment and supplies for patients with diabetes.
