Physician Assistant Interview Details

Interview Format: Applicants will be interviewed using the Multiple Mini-Interview (MMI) system. Candidates have five (5) minutes to answer questions and respond to scenarios at a series of stations, each of which has a different interviewer who will rate the candidate's performance. You will have one minute to move between stations followed by one minute to review the next prompt. An orientation session will be held prior to the MMI.

Check-in Instructions: It is imperative that you arrive on time as check-in will begin promptly at the scheduled interview time. Check-in will take place in the lobby of our Main Entrance (A on the campus map). The Admissions Committee cannot guarantee an interview to a late applicant. To ensure that the interview process runs smoothly and to allow for the possibility of delays beyond your control, (i.e. weather, traffic, etc.) we suggest that if you are from outside the area that you arrive in North Chicago one day early. All transportation and accommodation expenses are your responsibility.

The Physician Assistant program reserves the right to cancel interview dates due to inclement weather or other unexpected situations. If this occurs, every attempt will be made to notify you and reschedule your interview.

Interview Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy: If your plans change and you're unable to attend the interview as scheduled, we ask that you notify Maryn Abbott immediately at maryn.abbott@rosalindfranklin.edu or 847-578-8692 so that we can plan accordingly.

We will consider requests for rescheduling your interview, but please realize that interview seats fill up quickly and we may not be able to offer you an alternative interview date. It is in your best interest to attend your originally scheduled interview, if possible.

Other Important Details

  • You will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement upon check-in.
  • When you arrive for check-in, we will take a passport-style photo of you.
  • Snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the day, but no meals will be provided.

Directions to Campus

Please take a moment to review our campus map to locate the Main Entrance (A on the map). Once you arrive at the Main Entrance there will be someone to greet you and to guide you to the check-in table.

If you will be driving a car, turn onto campus using North Drive then take the first right and find a parking spot in the Visitor Lot. If no spots are available there, proceed to the South Parking Lot.

On occasion, the South Parking Lot also fills up. If that happens to you, you can proceed to the public parking area of the North Parking Lot (all public parking areas are marked P on the campus map). For anyone who parks in the North Parking Lot, it will be easier to enter the building through the Morningstar entrance (I on the campus map) and report directly to the PA check-in table just outside our Welcome Center.

Parking on campus is free so long as you do not park in any specially designated or reserved spots.
