Weekend Schedule

Come back and celebrate the rich legacy of the Chicago Medical School and reconnect with classmates and friends. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to engage in the CMS mission and enjoy the following programs and events:

Friday, October 4, 2019

Campus Welcome

See what your legacy has created! CMS continues to change the future of medical education by incubating innovation in medical education, strengthening clinical partnerships, extending the reach of our medical research and removing the economic barriers to support our students’ aspirations.

Emerging Technologies: Simulation Center Tour

Experience our “virtual health system” that integrates a range of healthcare environments, modern technology and simulation-based training models to create highly-realistic learning and assessment experiences. An early investor in simulation-based learning across our clinical programs, CMS uses advanced simulation in healthcare to train and develop healthcare professionals who learn and practice in teams to improve patient outcomes.

Alumni and Student Specialty Luncheon

Connect with CMS students pursuing your medical specialty and hear about the new CMS curriculum and how it will empower our students over an engaging and invigorating lunch.

Afternoon Lecture

More information to follow!

Special Exhibit: Bradley Scott Roth Saul Microscope Collection

On view through December 1 in the Sheinin Legacy Lobby are antique microscopes, which date from the mid-1700s and include Nuremburg, drum and Victorian-era student microscope styles. The selections are from a collection recently donated by Yolanda and Richard Saul, MD ’61.

RFU Bookstore

Show off your school spirit wherever you go! Get your CMS swag at the RFU Bookstore.

Transformational Discoveries: Innovation and Research Park Tour

The new Innovation and Research Park is key to connecting and solidifying the region's already-powerful bioscience and healthcare community. Every day, our world-class researchers are forging new paths in the lab towards news ways to diagnose and treat a range of devastating diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s, as well as cystic fibrosis and cancer. The Innovation and Research Park, which opens on campus this fall, will facilitate collaboration with industry and startup to accelerate the development of game changing interventions.

Class Reunion Dinners

Reconnect with your classmates during an intimate dine around. We have secured reservations at several of Chicago’s most desirable restaurants – Michael Jordan’s, Spiagga, Maple & Ash, just to mention a few – allowing you to enjoy a delicious meal while sharing memories and career and life updates with those who were by your side from the beginning!

Dinner will be paid for by the individual at the restaurant. Cost will vary.

Saturday, October 5

Illinois Medical District Bus Tour

Reminisce with CMS classmates and see the changing landscape of the Illinois Medical District on the near west side of Chicago. Local historians will guide a bus tour and provide context to the architecture and history of the area. Sites include the former locations of Chicago Medical School and the Chicago Maternity Center, as well as Mt. Sinai Hospital and the redevelopment of the old Cook County Hospital.

How will I make an impact?: Wealth Management Lunch

The changing financial landscape has caused people to reevaluate their charitable behaviors. Smart wealth management techniques empower individuals to support those organizations and causes that are most important to them. Learn practical guidance for being more strategic and efficient in the ways that you make a difference. Lunch will be provided.

Humanities and culture inform CMS experience: Art Institute of Chicago Highlights Tour

As we expand the humanities into our CMS curriculum, we shift to a more humanistic education to develop well-rounded physicians who go beyond reductive disease treatment to embrace the full content in which care is provided.  Our goal is to improve observation and empathy in order to help our students to think creatively and build sensitivity from different perspectives.

CMS Alumni Dinner and Awards Ceremony

Celebrate CMS alumni who have made a significant impact on the medical field through outstanding career achievement, community service or philanthropy. Cocktail attire. Professional class photos will be taken.

CMS All Alumni After Party

Continue celebrating and enjoy a gorgeous view of Chicago from our reunion lounge at the Intercontinental.
