Deadline to complete the RFU Financial Aid Application for May start students is March 22nd.
Deadline to complete the RFU Financial Aid Application for August start students is June 21st.
After your 2019-2020 FAFSA and RFU Financial Aid Application have been received, the Financial Aid Office will email you if any additional information is needed. Go to Student Self Serve: Financial Aid portal and login with your HelixNet ID and password. Navigate to Required Documents, and review your Missing Items Checklist. Please respond timely to any requests for additional information. You will not be awarded until your financial aid file is completed.
Newly admitted students will be emailed their Award Notification to their RFU email address. Your financial aid award is based on your program, cost of attendance (COA), and funding availability.
May start students will be emailed in late-April.
August start students will be emailed in June.
Financial Aid Awards are viewable through the Student Self-Serve: Financial Aid portal under My Awards.
Students may accept, reduce, or reject all or a portion of their federal financial aid eligibility for the 2019-2020 academic year.
A student who accepts Federal Unsubsidized Student Loans or Federal Grad PLUS Student Loans must complete the required promissory note(s) and entrance counseling before Student Financial Services can disburse those funds.
Financial Aid Disbursements and Refunds
Once a student have accepted their financial aid award on Student Self-Serve: Financial Aid portal, and completed all required documents and entrance counseling, the funds are schedules for disbursement.
Students receive their financial aid in 3 or 4 equal disbursements depending on their program and class level (Link to Insite, will require HelixNet Login)
Financial aid disbursement occurs 3 days before the start of each quarter.
Financial aid funds are applied directly to the student's tuition and fee account.
Students who receive financial aid funds in excess of tuition and fees may receive a refund for the over-payment amount during the first week of classes. View important Student Financial Services dates
Refunds can be used in covering living expenses, purchasing books and equipment, or to pay other educational related costs.
Student will be responsible for covering any of their start up costs (i.e. rent deposits and moving expenses). It is best to come prepared to cover those costs.
