Visit RFUCAS to complete your application. Applications must be completed by the deadline for the quarter you wish to begin the program.

Education

A degree from an accredited school of physical therapy.

A minimum undergraduate overall GPA of 2.50.

Standardized Tests

If you do not hold U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, you will need an official score report from TOEFL. (This may be waived if you have been a full-time student at a U.S. college or university for at least two consecutive years, or if you are from a country in which English is a primary language.)

Basic TOEFL Requirements

If you earned a bachelor's degree from outside the U.S. and/or you do not hold. U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency, you are required to demonstrate proof of English proficiency via an official TOEFL report that includes: a total score and category scores in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Minimum scores:
IBT (Internet-based test) of 100 or the equivalent is recommended for graduate school with no category score being lower than 22.

Please note:

  • Test scores must be a test taken within 2 years of the date from when a complete application is submitted.
  • The language test score requirement may be waived if you have demonstrated academic success as a full-time student at a U.S. college or university for at least two consecutive years, or if you are from a country in which English is a primary language.

Letters of Recommendation

One letter of recommendation is required, two preferred, from professionals and/or academicians who know you well (i.e. pre-health advisors/committees, professors or supervisors). We encourage letter writers to share their contact information. Letters must include a signature and be on official letterhead. Letters must be submitted through RFUCAS.

Transcripts

Final official transcript from the college or university that conferred your Master's Degree must be submitted directly to RFUCAS.

If you have studied outside the U.S., you will need to have your transcripts evaluated for U.S. equivalency. Send those transcripts to World Education Services (www.wes.org) for a course-by-course report, and upload the report to RFUCAS. (This requirement is waived for any internationally educated therapist who is currently licensed and practicing in the U.S. or received his or her Master’s Degrees in the U.S.)

Only official transcripts will be accepted.

Licensure and Certifications

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor of Science accompanied by a Certificate in Physical Therapy.

All applicants must have graduated from a CAPTE accredited program and currently hold license to practice physical therapy in the U.S.
